The CAPiR offers a Behavior Platform that allows to perform investigations on basic neurophysiological mechanisms and preclinical studies in different animal models. Behavioral studies are now considered a gold standard in biomedical and biotechnological experiments as they allow assessing the effectiveness of a drug or a new biomedical technology through direct observation of the effect of a complex living organism.
The center consists of three facilities that offer different behavioral test batteries able to evaluate different aspects of behavior and possible alterations caused by diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia, mood disorders, muscular dystrophies.
